          Hey lovelies! It’s that time again! You now, when we let you know what affordable fashion is patiently waiting in stores for you to come pick it up! I have personally seen the line I am going to talk about in stores for myself. The advertisement, the displays in stores…it is all amazing!

            We all know Justin Timberlake can dress, but who knew that he had an eye for both men and women fashion trends!? His very chic, very trendy clothing line, William Rast premiered in Target stores across the nation close to one month ago. The line includes everything from jeans, vests, and denim jackets all the way to flowing summer tank tops.

            Not only are the clothes gorgeous and trendy, they are affordable. This is not your typical celebrity fashion line premiere. The pieces are actually affordable for students like me and you!

            Ranging from skinny jeans , rugged  jackets and “tomboy” style button up shirts to casual wear for the professional business doll, the William Rast line has something for everybody! The prices range from (sale) $8.98 to $199.99 for some leather jackets!

                The line is in Target Stores for a limited time only with lots of merchandise on sale on the target website!

Hi Lovers,

The phrase “single and ready to mingle” sounds good/easy, but is it really? I asked one sweet-lady what the toughest thing about being single was and she told me something so simple, something some of us take for granted: having a dependable companion. Having someone who is there no matter what is priceless.

During the time you are at your best as well as your worst. Having someone there to come fix a flat tire, rush over when you say there’s some creepy guy in your building, warm up your car for you before work or class, listen when you need to vent, accept your for who you are, etc. All these things are a must, but how can you be sure when you have mingled enough and found a dependable companion?

You can never be so sure you have found your soul mate. But something you can be sure about is knowing that you have never lowered your standards or literally made a guy right for you when you know deep down you deserve better. If you see early sings that someone you are dating is not dependable, why continue to get your feelings more involved?

Look yourself in the mirror every day and tell yourself you deserve the best. You deserve someone who will accept your flaws, love them, and show you your worth. Don’t settle, you always deserve the best.

BIO FOR HIP-HOP-ARTIST

With a poem published as early as 11 years young, Derrick “DC” Caldwell is what our generation would deem “an old soul,” nonetheless, a soul to be reckoned with. He was introduced to music early in his childhood, inspired by his mother who would walk around the house playing the flute. There was also an artist, Chuck Mangione, a horn player who created music that DC got the sheet music too as soon as he got his own horn. Young DC continued to open his eyes to the inspiration around him.

As for DC’s developing of his own craft, it began in his 20^th year of life…leading to the release of his first mix tape “DC is Black Dynamite” in the winter of 2010.  Before the release of his first single off of the mix tape “Chocolate TY,” DC struggled to get people to really feel his music. He has always stayed true to getting people to really feel music and what he has to say, rather than just playing a track.  The song “Chocolate TY” came from a personal place and the amount of feeling DC put in the song is the same amount of feeling he got from his listeners: “It’s not just about the music. It’s about the feeling you give people.”

Now confident enough for the whole world to hear his music, DC is ready for his tracks to be played everywhere. He’s always believed that people never truly listen to the music, merely just the songs. There’s something in every melody, every beat, there’s a message in every song, even not the most popular ones, but according to DC people unfortunately don’t always pay attention. He wants people to pay attention to what he has to say: “I had a revelation that I wanted to create music and touch people and comfort them in any situation. Whatever you’re feeling I want to accompany that feeling. No matter how anyone is feeling…they can play my music.”

In fact, the key to his very own sanity, DC claims that music is therapeutic. Through music, he releases his feelings and claims it even allows him to release things and even people that may not need to be in his life at this point in time. At the end of the day, DC wants to deliver a message to the world. What exactly that message is, he’s not really sure yet. Maybe that’s something for the world to decide.

Exactly who is DC you ask: “A returned soul in a young man’s body. Entity produced from the inner depths of God himself. Creativity. Originality. Authenticity. Love. Respect.”

It’s approaching! That one holiday that makes either our flirtatious, romantic side come out or unfortunately our pessimistic side when it comes to dating. Valentine’s Day will here in less than two weeks and I hope all of my dolls get to spend time with whomever it is that you may have had your eyes on for a while.

            Are you the type of chica who has always thought that the guy is supposed to make the first move? Well, snap out of it! Yes, that is the traditional way of courtship. But hunny it is 2011!! Why not make the first move…ask him out! Whether it’s February 14^th, the week before or the week after, I just want all of my dolls to make a difference in their dating!

The Approach

            Are you shy? Well, for you trying being too obvious is never good! If you get to spend time with him at some point during your day, whether it is at work, in a class, wherever, if you’re a “texter,” get ahold of his phone somehow and sneak your number in his phone book. Then say “text me sometimes!” throw in a wink, and he’ll get the hint! Tell him you just were thinking about purchasing a new phone, so you want to see how his works. Trust me, he will be texting you! Or even live chat in in the office! Send a fun, flirty email! Don’t be so serious, it’s all in fun! Or just slide him your number!

            Are you an “in-between” girl? Are you kind of shy, when it comes to him? Well you are the one who needs to throw hints! Dropping lines such as “I haven’t been to the movies in so long, and I really want to see *insert movie title here,*” or “I’ve actually never been ice skating. But I would love to go” or “Have you tried that new bistro downstairs yet? I can recommend an amazing dessert!”

            If you are an out-going, and life of the party doll, there is no excuse! You need to flat out ask him out on a date! People are already used to your energetic, friendly, and sometimes over the top personality, so saying things like “take me out” or “would you like to go out with me” with no hesitation will most likely not surprise him. He may even have expected it from you!

RIPPED JEANS

Hi beautiful,

            As we all know, leggings are super comfy, adventurously colorful, and go perfectly with almost anything you pair them with.  However, bottoms that I truly adore are ripped jeans!! Lately I’ve been seeing all different types of new styles. Some are more risky than others so it all depends on how adventurous you are. I love, love the ripped jeans with the holes/rips all the way down the front of both legs. This look leaves lots of room for simplicity in the top, jacket, or even shoes. I also think this cut/style looks adorable with ankle boots. Rolling up the pants just a little at the bottom allows for showing off your gorgeous ankle (which most people overlook) and more importantly how high of a heel you can rock. I have even seen some styles that show off more leg than jeans. This style looks amazing on colored denim and especially on very light colored denim.

There are more simple ways to rock ripped jeans if it is too cold or this style is too risky. There are jeans with just a few rips. Or there are even ones with rips that have a layer of material under the rips/holes. I recently got a pair just like this; I can still show off this style and wear them in the cold winter weather.

This type of jean look wonderful paired with a short or long blazer with a loose fitting tank top or blouse. They also pair gorgeous with accessories like long pearls or any long chain for that matter. Don’t forget that other than ankle boots, military style boots go beautifully with these types of jeans a blazer, and of course any scarf!
